Ticks are a huge problem in Karamoja because they carry and spread so many diseases. KACHEP organizes sustainable health services to the semi-nomadic, pastoralist Karamojong.

A place where there are many animals but few veterinarians describes Karamoja. The semi-nomadic, pastoralist Karamojong way of life depends upon healthy animals. Healthy animals lead to healthy people. KACHEP treats animals at the office, organizes cattle spraying, vaccinates animals when vaccines are available, helps train future animal health care workers and creates, produces and markets sustainable medicines from indigenous knowledge.
